OHIO DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
The project involves the construction of a new interchange on Interstate 680 to provide access to State Route 164 in Mahoning County, Ohio. In addition to preparing the Categorical Exclusion (CE), Lawhon was tasks with completing all public involvement activities. Upon completion of the environmental studies for the project, L&A reviewed the project scope, purpose and need and environmental considerations (ecological resources, cultural resources, environmental site assessment, noise analysis and social and economic/community impacts) in order to to prepare public notices, exhibits and informational handouts for the public meeting. We also coordinated the open house event and answered questions posed by attending residents, business and property owners and public officials. The public comments were collected, along with ODOT’s responses, for inclusion in the CE. The CE was approved by ODOT and the Federal Highway Administration on January 23, 2015.
