CENTRAL OHIO TRANSIT AUTHORITY
The CMAX is COTA’s proposed Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) serving Columbus and Westerville, Ohio. The project includes BRT and enhanced bus service along a 15.6-mile corridor from Downtown to Polaris Parkway. L&A prepared the Documented Categorical Exclusion (DCE) for approval by the Federal Transit Administration (FTA). In preparing this document, we completed studies to evaluate air quality, lane use and zoning, vibration and noise, historic resources, visual quality, potential relocations, hazardous materials, ecological resources, environmental justice and social and community resources. The project required close coordination with FTA and the Ohio State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO). The DCE was approved by FTA in July of 2014.
