OHIO FACILITIES CONSTRUCTION COMMISSION
The Enhanced Environmental Hazard Assessment (EEHA) Program was established by the Ohio School Facilities Commission, now the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission, to ensure asbestos and other environmental issues were identified and resolved during the K-12 state-funded capital improvement process. Lawhon assisted OSFC/OFCC with the development of this program and has been selected as a pre-qualified consultant following its inception in 2000. Since our first task order assignment at Springfield City Schools, L&A has assessed over 62 million square feet in over 750 school buildings. As an Environmental Assessor, L&A conducts detailed assessments of school buildings to identify materials that may be hazardous, such as asbestos, lead, mercury, polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), refrigerants and underground storage tanks (USTs). L&A is also responsible for quantifying the hazardous materials identified and preparing reports of findings, including the timeframe and cost of removal.
