Lawhon & Associates, Inc. has been awarded a city-wide contract
with the City of Dayton, Ohio. L&A’s primary responsibility
under this contract is to develop strategic methodologies to obtain “no
further action” status under the State Fire Marshal’s Bureau
of Underground Storage Tank Regulations (BUSTR) where feasible on former
and current UST’s sites within the city. Work under this contract
has included a quick-response UST pull when a utility company discovered
a UST under a sidewalk when they were installing cable, and three sites
are undergoing Tier 1 Evaluations, including a site at Dayton’s
International Airport. L&A has also submitted a Remedial Action Plans
(RAP) and has prepared an after-the-fact closure at a local fire station.
In addition, L&A has completed inspections of eight sites where the
City is currently operating 20 USTs.
