Well Field Investigation, Village of Hebron, Ohio

Lawhon & Associates, Inc. worked with the Village of Hebron to identify a new well field to allow the village to accommodate future growth in the area. A site was identified approximately 1,000 feet away from the existing well field. Two test wells were installed to depths of approximately 300 feet each. Step-rate and 72-hour constant rate tests were conducted in the new well field. Results of the testing indicated that water levels did not recover to pre-test levels after five days following the test. L&A estimated the safe yield for the aquifer, but also recommended that if this new well field were used for production, the village should institute continued monitoring of the water levels in the aquifer to determine future well field capacities. A Wellhead Protection Plan (WPP) for the village was also prepared.
