Proposed New Steel Facility, Ohio

Lawhon & Associates, Inc. conducted all of the ecological and cultural resource investigations required by NEPA, and prepared the associated environmental permit applications in support of the proposed construction of a state-of-the-art integrated steel mill on an almost 1,000 acre green-field site in Scioto County, OH bordering the Ohio River.  Evaluation of ecological resources included assessment of the Ohio River floodplain, numerous wetlands, T&E species, and mussel populations in potentially impacted stretches of the Ohio River. The investigations and permit applications prepared by Lawhon satisfied the requirements for NEPA EA/EIS, water resource delineations, environmental planning, and environmental permitting (404/401 environmental permitting and mitigation).
