Private School (K-8)

L&A spearheaded a comprehensive investigation, clean-up and demolition at a historically industrial site on which a new school will be constructed. L&A’s Phase II Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) and included an electromagnetometer and ground-penetrating radar (EM/GPR) survey to search for underground storage tanks (USTs). L&A also performed a soil ground water and arsenic background study. L&A performed an asbestos survey, waste characterization and historical document review to identify gas wells on the property. Remediation activities included the removal of all asbestos-containing material, the removal of fluorescent light fixtures and associated ballasts, cleaning out oily residue from former vehicle maintenance pits and old vegetable oil from tanks located in the basement of the building, and removal of polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) containing capacitors. Throughout the project, L&A has consistently met client deadlines and kept the project under budget.
