Eastown Road Improvements
Lawhon & Associates, Inc. staff managed Level 1 Ecological Survey, ESA Screening and Phase I, and Noise Analysis and Abatement for the Eastown Road Improvement Project in Lima, Ohio. The project consisted of proposed improvements to Eastown Road from S.R. 309 to Elm Street, and the extension of Eastown Road from Elm Street to S.R. 117. All project alternative corridors were surveyed. All terrestrial habitats were identified and mapped, streams and ponds were identified and classified, and wetlands were delineated. Subsequently, all necessary waterway permit applications were prepared and permits obtained. An ESA Screening was performed along all alternatives, and three sites were eventually investigated as part of an ESA Phase I investigation. A noise analysis following FHWA’s TNM was conducted for all alternatives. Based on the results of the analysis, a barrier analysis was performed for some of the alternatives.
