The Ohio State University - Larkins Hall

The Ohio State University intends to selectively demolish, renovate and expand the existing student recreation center known as Larkins Hall. This building was originally constructed in 1931 as a men’s gymnasium and aquatics center. It has been expanded and remodeled several times over the years. A major expansion in 1977 added several pools, gymnasiums, offices and handball courts. Lawhon & Associates, Inc. has been selected to survey the entire complex to determine the amounts and locations of hazardous materials that will have to be removed prior to demolition. L&A will be responsible for abatement specification design, on-site management and clearance during abatement activities and post-abatement close-out documents. The estimated cost of environmental remediation for Larkins Hall is $780,000.00.
