New Lebanon City School District

L&A performed a biological contamination assessment at the New Lebanon Elementary School when fungal contamination was identified on approximately 40,000 square feet of gypsum board and Tectum roof deck after the removal of the plaster ceiling. L&A worked with OSFC, the construction manager, architect and district to develop remediation options to address the contaminated building materials. The collective decision was made to demolish and rebuild the structure. L&A developed specifications to control airborne fungal concentrations and reduce impact on surrounding facilities during demolition activities. L&A provided oversight and clearance testing activities to validate the success of the remediation activities. A Moisture Intrusion Prevention Plan was developed and incorporated into the facility’s MPA Plan. This project was completed in three weeks and within budget.
