Lawhon & Associates, Inc. has a dynamic history that began in 1985 when
the company was founded.
Our company’s
founder, Dr. William T. Lawhon, previously worked as a research scientist
and from 1973 to 1981 managed the Environmental
Research Section at Battelle Laboratories. Later, Dr.
Lawhon became the Director of R&D and NW Product Development for
International Spike (Jobes). You can think of Dr. Lawhon when you see
the little plant
fertilizer sticks at the check out line of your favorite nursery or home
improvement store!
In 1985, when a special client asked Dr. Lawhon to help
their nationwide corporation with the management of their asbestos
issues, he assembled a team of professionals – Lawhon & Associates, Inc.
As the Asbestos
Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) and the Bureau of Underground
Storage Tank Regulations evolved in the late 1980s,
Lawhon kept pace by bringing in experts in hazardous materials
management, industrial hygiene, geology, hydrogeology, microbiology
and engineering. In the early 2000s, our expertise
expanded to include maintenance plan advisory services to keep up with the ever-changing
needs
in real estate. Today, the company has a rich mix of professionals.
Headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, with offices in Cleveland,
Akron and Dayton, we have completed projects ranging in size from less than $500 to more
than $8.5 million throughout the United States and Canada.
